After 5 days I finally got my normal sleeping rhythm again. It was weird to go to bed at 8 and waking up at 4, but that was all I could do….
Still, I’m very tired when I get to the hotel and a cool shower and nice bed are everything I want. Yesterday I went to the “Grand Palace”. The people from the hotel told me to take a rated taxi to the port, on the Chao Praya river, what was not a good idea. I could have taken the sky train, and subway. Not for the money because it would have probably be the same amount, but for the views. From the port, you can either take a private boat, which I didn’t, or a tourist boat with everyone else (150B) . It stops where people need it to stop and as VERY crowded on the way back. The Gran Palace, house of the emerald buddha,is breathtaking. You cannot help the emotion.
When you get to the actual street where the Palace is, turn to the river side first, there is a fruit market with local vendors, I bought a Kg. Rambutan and Tamarind .The most delicate fruit ever!
After going to the Palace I took the boat again that took me to another small port where for 3 B. they cross you to Wat Arun and the reclined Buddha. Believe me, you have to see that for yourself.
On the side street from the Wat Arun there is another market, on an alley, where they sell all kind of fresh and dry fish. Please go, it looks very different, if you know what I mean, but that is the good thing about Bkk everything is sooo different…
